The Sound Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional audio quality and consistency across all nightclub events, including live performances, DJ sets, and special productions. This role involves managing the setup, operation, and maintenance of the venue’s sound systems to ensure an immersive and high-impact auditory experience for guests and performers alike. The Sound Engineer works closely with artists, DJs, and management to meet performance requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain the integrity of the club’s audio environment.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

 

  • Set up, operate, and maintain the nightclub’s sound systems for live performances, DJs, and events. 

  • Perform sound checks and monitor sound quality throughout events to ensure an optimal experience for performers and guests. 

  • Mix live audio for DJs, vocalists, and bands, balancing levels and EQ for clarity and impact. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with microphones, monitors, speakers, and mixing consoles. 

  • Work closely with DJs, artists, and management to meet sound and production requirements. 

  • Manage stage audio equipment setup, including cabling, patching, and power distribution. 

  • Ensure all audio equipment is properly maintained, stored, and inventoried. 

  • Adhere to venue safety standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace in the booth and stage areas. 

  • Assist with lighting or visual systems when required (cross-training provided). 

  • Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management. 

  • Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings. 

  • Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings. 

  • Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example. 

  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude. 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments. 

  • Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members. 

  • Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Tao Group Hospitality in-venue training

 

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in live sound engineering, preferably in nightclub or concert settings

  • Proficiency with digital and analog mixing consoles

  • Strong understanding of signal flow, EQ, compression, and effects processing

  • Knowledge of DJ equipment integration

  • Willingness to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
