POSITION SUMMARY:
Serve as the vital link between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant’s quality, presentation, and timing standards. The expeditor coordinates communication between chefs, cooks, and servers to guarantee smooth service and an exceptional guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
▪Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests.
▪Handles all allergy and/or dietary restrictions and modifications.
▪Accurately follows all orders received from the POS system and/or Chef’s
▪Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station.
▪Follow supervisor’s instructions, and communicate with and support co-workers, while being a team player.
▪Possesses in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes with the ability to execute them to company standards.
▪Possesses general knowledge of the venue.
▪Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
▪Manage the pass and ensure timely, accurate delivery of food orders from kitchen to guests.
▪Inspect each plate for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and portion before it leaves the kitchen.
▪Act as the main liaison between the kitchen and serving staff, relaying special requests, modifications, and timing updates clearly and efficiently.
▪Organize and prioritize incoming orders to maintain smooth service, especially during peak hours.
▪Ensure dishes from multiple stations are completed simultaneously and assembled correctly before service.
▪Keep the expediting station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (garnishes, plating tools, order tickets, etc.).
▪Assist with plating, garnishing, or assembling dishes during high-volume periods.
▪Quickly identify and address any service or kitchen issues that could delay orders or impact quality.
▪Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
▪Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
▪Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings (where applicable).
▪Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
▪Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
▪Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
▪Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
▪Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members.
▪Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
▪Tao Group Hospitality in-venue kitchen expo training
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
▪Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen or equivalent related Tao Group Hospitality experience required.
▪Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge preferred.
