Tacocina is a taco stand from Union Square Hospitality Group, located in Williamsburg’s new Domino Park. We serve tacos, margaritas, and more in a laid-back, lively setting overlooking the East River.
Who you are: The Prep Cook / Porter is a warm, friendly, and highly motivated employee that delivers the highest level of hospitality and service to our guests. Prep cooks / Porters are expected to work primarily in the back-of-house stations. This is a seasonal position beginning at the time of hire until Fall 2026, with the opportunity to transfer within the company based on performance.
What you'll do:
- Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
- Consistently provide an outstanding guest experience and provide an outstanding culinary experience
- Maintain facilities in compliance with DOH standards
- Support the back-of-house functions, including but not limited to prep work and support preparing dishes from the menu
What we need from you:
- 1+ years of previous food service and/or customer service experience
- Knowledge of fast casual-style food, service, and beverage programs
- Experience using POS systems
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
- Experience in a kitchen support position within a similar environment
- Knowledge of DOH policies and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days, nights, and weekends
