Assists maître d’ with checking in and managing the seating of all guests, both reservations and walk-ins. Acknowledges and interacts with the restaurant guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Anticipate and accommodate guest needs with professionalism and courtesy
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance area and overall venue
Comply with Department of Health regulations and company sanitation standards
Actively take, confirm, and manage guest reservations
Assist with incoming calls and answer guest questions
Assist the maître d’ in optimizing reservation flow and seating availability to accommodate as many walk-ins as possible, ensuring seamless shift operations
Provide initial table setup support to the dining room team
Properly set-up front desk area, perform side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:
Printing and organizing current menus
Completing all assigned opening and closing side work
Report any breakage or damage to equipment or furniture promptly to managemen
Attend and actively participate in daily pre-service meetings and training sessions
Learn through observation and collaboration, and lead by example
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partner brands, and the surrounding hotel environment when applicable
Collaborate with and support fellow team members to ensure seamless service
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Tao Group Hospitality in-venue wing training
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum 1 year host experience or equivalent related Tao Group Hospitality experience required
Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
