Tao Group Hospitality is hiring a full-time dynamic facilities professional to oversee building operations, maintenance, and infrastructure across our properties. This position requires a skilled leader who can maintain optimal building performance, manage facilities teams, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will oversee the technical and mechanical systems that keep our facilities operating at peak performance while driving efficiency, organization, and accountability across the department.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ensure optimal functioning of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire/life safety, elevators)
  • Assist in providing an attractive, clean, safe, and secure facility
  • Handle mechanical, electrical, structural, and other technical systems within the property
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and maintain compliance with DOB, DOH, FDNY regulations
  • Manage maintenance contracts, vendor relationships, and emergency response procedures
  • Maintain detailed logs for compliance and coordinate repairs with facilities teams
  • Maintain tool inventory, storage organization, and supply tracking
    Support installations and assist with additional project manpower as needed
    Source costs for maintenance projects and ensure facility upkeep standards
    Develop vendor scopes of work, solicit bids, and manage preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage vendor COIs and Permit to Work processes
  • Serve as primary contact for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration vendors
  • Oversee team members, assign jobs and tasks, and track project progress
  • Track job progress by maintaining detailed records and monitoring work completion
  • Provide weekly status reports for ongoing projects
  • Prioritize work orders based on business demands
  • Maintain payroll cost control through effective staffing and scheduling
  • Maintain department budget and support financial planning efforts
  • Interact with other department managers regarding work requests and maintenance needs
  • Enforce policies and procedures while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Motivate and develop team members across multiple shifts
  • Lead and manage facilities and construction project teams, including work assignments, timekeeping, and quality control
  • Attend and participate in meetings regarding ongoing and upcoming projects
  • Perform electrical repairs, millwork, AV system maintenance, and general handyman tasks
  • Maintain furniture and complete minor drywall, carpentry, and electrical work
    Coordinate system installations and infrastructure improvements
  • Create and maintain SOPs and preventive maintenance programs
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned

 

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years supervisory experience overseeing facilities teams across multiple shifts
  • Strong multi-trade background (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical/appliance repairs)
  • Trade certifications (CAMT, OSHA, HVAC, CPO, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of building compliance requirements (DOB, DOH, FDNY)
  • Experience with safety inspections and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with blueprints, building systems, and basic electronic systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with maintenance or work order systems preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and perform within tight time constraints
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule based on operational and emergency response needs, including nights and weekends as required
  • Bilingual capabilities a plus
